Ottawa rips Cornwall, 6-2

 

The Cornwall Colts had trouble finding ways to stop the Ottawa Senators, which beat Colts, 6-2.

 

Ottawa was sparked by Isaac Anderson, who racked up one goal. Anderson scored 8:40 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Ottawa. William Cullen provided the assist.

The Senators stifled Cornwall's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Ottawa additionally got points from Cullen, who also had one goal and one assist, Salim Mahi-Beaudry, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Greg Meireles, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jim Pearson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Ottawa also got a goal from Daniel Sarracco as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Cameron White, Alexandre Way, Sean Rappleyea, and Brady Cloutier, who contributed one each.

The Colts were helped by Nick Lalonde, who had one goal. Lalonde scored 6:06 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tristan Conrad picked up the assist. Tanner Spink also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Keegan Mulhearn and Jeremy McFarlane, who each chipped in one.

Ian Andriano recorded 20 saves for Ottawa. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brett Nichol made 23 saves for Cornwall on 29 shots. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
