Brockville survives Pembroke comeback, wins 3-1

 

The Pembroke Lumber Kings almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Brockville Braves managed to pull out a 3-1 win in the end.

Brockville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Braves' Jack Billings scored at 19:42 in the third period to put Brockville up 4-1.

 

The Braves were led by goalie Michael Carasuolo, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Carasuolo will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

Pembroke's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Pembroke power plays. The Lumber Kings were unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Brockville included Jacob Moreau and Neil Robinson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brockville came via Vincenzo Renda and Andrew Jarvis, who contributed one each.

Pembroke excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 34 shots on Brockville's net.

Pembroke was led by Chris Minns, who scored the team's only goal. Minns scored 8:51 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Kris Lalonde picked up the assist.

The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Gabe Mollot-Hill made 29 saves for the Lumber Kings on 31 shots. Pembroke incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
