OJHL OATES falls to QJHL after surprising comeback

 

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, QJHL battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over OJHL OATES.

QJHL never led in the game until netting the game winner. QJHL trailed 2-0 after a goal by OJHL OATES' Michael Morgan at 15:44 in the first period. QJHL knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tommy Lapierre at 8:36 in the second period. QJHL scored the game winner on the power play at 17:45 in the second period on a goal by Lapierre.

 

QJHL was sparked by Antoine Pouliot, who finished with one goal.

QJHL also got points from Lapierre, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Justin Bernier also scored for QJHL. More assists for QJHL came via Pascal Corbeil, who had one and Felix Boucher and Jeremy Auger, who contributed two each.

QJHL's defense shut down OJHL OATES' forwards for much of the game, and OJHL OATES got off only 13 shots during the contest.

OJHL OATES was helped by Josh Kosack, who had one goal. Kosack scored 10 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 OJHL OATES. Jackson Bales picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for OJHL OATES were Jack Jeffers, Jeremy Szabo, and Ryan Takamatsu, who each chipped in one.

Brady Labrecque rejected 11 shots on goal for QJHL. QJHL incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gianluca Baggetta made 14 saves for OJHL OATES on 17 shots. OJHL OATES incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
