Nepean grabs 4-1 victory over Kanata

 

The Nepean Raiders had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Kanata Lasers.

 

Nepean was led by Mike Finger, who finished with one goal. Finger scored 9:11 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nepean. William Cullen picked up the assist.

The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Nepean additionally got points from Cullen, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Nepean included Kari Belec and Nicholas Domitrovic, who each put in one. In addition, Nepean received assists from PJ Heger, who had two and Justin Schebel, Corey Tam, Josh Zizek, Justin Hess, and Rory Garlasco, who each chipped in one.

Kanata put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nepean to score on any of its six power plays.

The Lasers were led by Yannick Martel, who scored the team's only goal. Martel scored 17:34 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nepean. Cole Lussier assisted on the tally.

The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kanata incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
