Morning Recap | Nationals, Braves, and Canadians win at Day 2 of Showcase

 

Carleton Place, ON – In Day 2 action of the CCHL Mid-Season Showcase, it was the Rockland Nationals, Brockville Braves, and Carleton Place Canadians grabbing victories.

 

F | ROCKLAND 5 PEMBROKE 2

Matthew Vermaeten (2), Jack Sullivan, Andrew Aboumossa, and Cameron Last scored goals, while Cyrus Martin made 19-saves as Rockland improved their season record to 17-8-0-2. Pembroke saw their record fall to 14-13-0-0 on the season.

 

F | BROCKVILLE 5 OTTAWA 3

Ryan Gillespie (2), Troy Bowditch, Mathieu Wuth, and Justin McRae tallied goals, while Jake Begley made 26-saves as Brockville came back from down 3-0 to win their 12th straight game and improve to 19-4-3-0 on the year. Ottawa, who had goals from Mark MacPhee (2), and Thomas Freel, saw their record fall to 18-10-1-0.

 

F | CARLETON PLACE 7 CORNWALL 0

Jake Roberts (2), Brett Thorne, Elliott McDermott, Andrej Hromic, Cameron Patton, and Ryan Bonfield all found the score-sheet, while Devon Levi has a 16-save shutout as Carleton Place improved to a league-best 24-3-2-0 on the year. Cornwall, who fell to 8-17-1-1, had a 51-save effort from Jakob Robillard.
