Morning Recap | Day 1 of CCHL Fall Showcase sees a lot of goals

 

OTTAWA, ON – All twelve teams were in action on a busy first day of the CCHL Fall Showcase with victories from Brockville, Hawkesbury, Pembroke, Carleton Place, Ottawa, and Renfrew.

 

BROCKVILLE 4 SMITHS FALLS 1

Matthew Donovan, Owen Rainey, Liam Goreski and Luke Tchor tallied goals, while Brandon Abbott made 33-saves for the win. Cory Liu scored the lone marker for Smiths Falls, while Victor Desjardins made 36 saves on the losing end.

 

HAWKESBURY 3 ROCKLAND 0

Rylee Hlusiak scored all three goals, while Max Donoso pitched a 20-save shutout in his debut for the Hawks. Jack McGovern finished with 18-saves in the losing effort for the Nationals.

 

PEMBROKE 8 NEPEAN 0

Sawyer Prokopetz (2), Brady Egan, Joe Jordan, Max Martin, Jacob Dupont, Jack Stockfish, and Jordan Fuller led the way offensively, while Dalton McBride made 14-saves for the shutout win. 

 

CARLETON PLACE 5 NAVAN 3

Jake Code scored twice, Kerfalla Toure, Bill Gourgon, and Caleb Kean also added goals, while Joe Chambers was exceptional making 43-saves for the victory. Blake Hall (2), and Alec Lovisek scored for Navan, while Ben West made 12-saves in the loss.

 

OTTAWA 6 CORNWALL 2

Philippe Jacques scored two goals, David Mabey, Edward Moskowitz, Massimo Gentile, and Samuel Edwards tallied singles, while Felix Schnell made 25-saves for the victory. Jake Coleman and Jonathan Heise found the net for the Colts, while Emile Savoie finished with 30-saves in the losing effort.

 

RENFREW 2 KEMPTVILLE 0

Charlie Johnson and Elvis Slack each scored powerplay goals in the third period, while Will Craig made 39-saves for the victory. Tyler Laureault finished with 31-saves in the loss for the 73’s.
