Michel leads Hawkesbury to shutout victory over Pembroke

 

Jesse Michel recorded a shutout against the Pembroke Lumber Kings as the Hawkesbury Hawks picked up a 2-0 win.

 

Hawkesbury was led by Ryan Bunka, who registered one goal. Bunka scored on the power play 10:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. The Hawks had gotten the advantage when Pembroke's Cameron Hughes was sent off for roughing. Adriano Leone picked up the assist.

Hawkesbury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Jonathan Cyr also scored for Hawkesbury. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Brett Everson, who had one.

Jesse Michel made 28 saves for the Hawks on 28 shots. Hawkesbury incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Lumber Kings' Sean Green stopped 26 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Pembroke incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
