LAST NIGHT IN THE CENTRAL

It was a light night of hockey in the Central Canada Hockey League as there were just two games on the ice. The Yzerman Division was hosting as the Ottawa Jr Senators and Gloucester Rangers were the home teams with visitors Carleton Place and Brockville.

CARLETON PLACE CANADIANS 4 OTTAWA JR SENATORS 2

In a rematch of the 2016 Bogart Cup Finals, the Carleton Place Canadians were again victorious over the Ottawa Jr Senators, defeating them 4-2.

The Canadians got on the board first as Connor Hill, on a beautiful rush with Alex Friesen would rip a shot past Jr Senators goalie Ian Andriano.  From there, Carleton Place would add two more, off the sticks of defensemen Antoine Desmeules and Aidan Girduckis to take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.  Ottawa would make it a hockey game in the second as Nicolas Samson and Cameron White would each score goals.  The comeback would fall short though as Brent Hill would add an empty-netter to help the Canadians to two points.  Carleton Place goaltender Connor Hughes would finish with 22 saves to earn his 7th victory of the season.
