Johnson leads Brockville to shutout victory over Gloucester

The Brockville Braves used a sparkling performance by Henry Johnson to take down the Gloucester Rangers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Brockville’s 3-0 shutout victory.

The Braves pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 10 penalty minutes.

Brockville was paced by Neil Robinson, who registered one goal and one assist. Robinson scored short handed 14:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. The Braves found themselves down a man on Sam Jones‘s boarding. Liam Folkes assisted on the tally.

Brockville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Gloucester to score on any of its six power plays. The Braves forced the Rangers goalie Doug Johnston to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Brockville also had goals scored by Jack Billings and Tre Folkes, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Vincenzo Renda, Michael Murray, and Jacob Moreau, who contributed one each.

Johnson recorded 26 saves for Brockville. The Braves registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Doug Johnston made 35 saves for Gloucester on 38 shots. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
