GRADS THIERRY MESSERVIER VERBALLY COMMITS TO PLYMOUTH STATE

The Central Canada Hockey League & Cumberland Grads are pleased to announce that goaltender Thierry Messervier has verbally committed to join Plymouth State University for the 2016-17 season.

The 20-year old Carignan, QC native went 18-6-5 in his lone season of CCHL action, finishing in the league top 10 in GAA (2.67), SV% (.909), Saves (811), and Shutouts (2).  He would share starting duties with the younger Ryan Couglin as they created one of the top 1-2 punches in the league.  To his credit, Messervier was named the CCHL Next Recruit/CCM Goaltender of the Month for January.

Before his one season stint with the Grads, the 6-2, 183 lb Messervier suited up for two seasons of Quebec Prep School hockey with the Dawson College Blues program.

Size, mobility, and focus are a few main strengths of his game but definitely not his only characteristics.  He has an excellent glove hand and very quick pads which make him hard to beat even when he is caught out of position.  Has the instincts that can’t be taught which result in huge game-changing saves in big moments.

He now joins a very strong Plymouth State Panthers program which finished second in the NCAA III Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MSCAC) this past season with a 15-2-1 record.
