Friday Recap | Five Games

F/SO | Hawkesbury 7, Ottawa 6

The Hawks survive the late comeback and have now won five straight games.

Chris Smith scored a hat-trick and two apples for his second five point game of they year. It was also his third hat-trick of the year and first since October November 5th.  Jankowksi also had a huge game, scoring his league leading 31st goal and three assists. Anderson gets the SO winner.

In the loss, Pierre Luc Veillette scored two goals for his 30th and 31st goals on the year, which is second in the league behind Jankowski. Walsh also had a big night, scoring two goals. Ottawa was trailing three goals in the final 10 minutes to force overtime. They have lost two straight games.

F | Brockville 5, Kanata 0

Braves score four goals in the first period and one in the third to record the win.

Holland records his first career hat-trick and Halle adds two goals. Evenson gets his 20th victory of the season, making 33 saves for his second career shut-out and first November 23rd.

With the loss  Kanata is now 1-1 since the start of February and have been shut-out twice in the last two weeks after they were previously shut-out against Navan on November 2nd, which is a span of 24 games.

F | Carleton Place 4, Pembroke 0

The Canadians opened the scoring in the first and did not stop there after they added one in the second and two in the third for their 43rd win of year. Which is now seven points ahead of Ottawa.

Forget made 30 saves for his league leading 5th shut-out of the season and also his CCHL leading 28th win.  Samuel Knoblauch scored his 24th of the year and Aidan Girduckis (1G/1A) led the way in scoring.  Carleton Place has now won six straight games.

The Lumber Kings have their two game winning streak snapped. They are now 4-3 over their last seven contests.

F | Kemptville 2, Nepean 1

Nepean opened the scoring in the first and were leading until Kemptville added one in the second and the game winning goal coming from Titus in the third with three minutes remaining.

Fry scored his 19th goal of the year and has now scored in five of his last six contests. Titus game winning goal was his second of the season after he scored one against Smiths Falls on December 13th. The 73’s are now 3-2 over their last five games.

Alex Bourhas scored the only goal for the Raiders. Alaverdy made 28 saves in the loss. Nepean has now lost five straight games and are 3-6-3 since the start of January. They are now 10 points behind Pembroke for the final playoff spot.

F/OT | Smiths Falls 4, Rockland 3

After the Nationals were leading 3-2 after two periods, Trevor Coykendall tied the game to force overtime early in the third. The Bears would come ontop with a OT winner from Alex Di Carlo, which was his second of the game.

Di Carlo’s two goal performance now gives him 18 goals on the year which is the Bears team lead. Bruce Coltart, coming off rookie of the month honors had two assists while Franche scored a goal and an assist. Smiths Falls has now won three straight games and are now three points behind the Lumber kings for the 8th and final playoff spot.

The Rockland Nationals have now lost three straight games.
