Cumberland blows out Nepean, 3-0

 

The Cumberland Grads were firing on all cylinders against the Nepean Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Grads emerged with a 3-0 win.

 

Cumberland was paced by Travis Douglas, who tallied one goal and one assist. Douglas scored 19:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland. Joey Sollazzo assisted on the tally.

Nepean was unable to stop the Grads from sending pucks towards the net, and Cumberland eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Cumberland also had goals scored by Matthew Morin and Maxime St.Pierre, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Etienne Vivash, Reid Murphy, Brandon Zullo, and Brett Faber, who contributed one each.

The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cumberland power plays. Nepean's offense operated below its season average. The Raiders average 3.0 goals per game.

Kevin Gollmer made 18 saves for the Grads on 18 shots. Cumberland incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Daniel Urbani recorded 36 saves for Nepean. The Raiders totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Nepean ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jody Sullivan was ejected from the game.
