PEMBROKE, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Pembroke Lumber Kings are pleased to announce that 2004 born Port Colborne, ON native Sawyer Prokopetz has committed to NCAA University of Nebraska Omaha.
Prokopetz, who is in his first season of junior hockey manning the blue line with the Lumber Kings, finished his rookie campaign with 9 points (5G, 4A), in 48 games of action, which was tied for first among rookie skaters on his team.
Prior to suiting up in the CCHL, the sturdy two-way defenseman spent the 2020-21 season with Ridley College coming up through the Southern Tier Admirals AAA Hockey Program out of Welland, ON.
