Commitment Alert | Jr Senators Christophe Cote commits to Brock University

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Ottawa Jr Senators are pleased to announce that forward Christophe Cote has committed to USports Brock University for the 2020-21 season.

The 1999 born Repentigny, QC native totaled 42 points (17G, 25A) split between the Ottawa Jr Senators and Cornwall Colts this past season. In 155 career games, Cote tallied 28 goals and totaled 71 points.

“Our entire organization is very proud of Christophe,” said Jr Senators Head Coach Martin Dagenais. “Although his time with us was short, he made a huge impact on his teammates. The kid is a fierce competitor who doesn’t back down from anyone. I really think some of our players grew two inches after we made his acquisition. His arrival was the boost our team needed at that time.

“Christophe became one of our go-to guys in the last stretch,” added Dagenais. “His line with David Bérubé and Joshua Shimizu was electric for us. It really is too bad the playoffs were cancelled because that’s where he’s at his best. We saw that first hand in the last two post-seasons when we faced off against Brockville, his former team. That’s also the main reason why we traded for him at the deadline. You definitely need guys like him to win in the playoffs. He’ll be remembered as a player you hate playing against, but would love to have on your team. For me, that’s the ultimate compliment.”

Cote becomes the fifth member of the Jr Senators to commit to university hockey, joining Owen Cole (UMass Lowell), Conor Smart (Oswego State), and Faisal Alsaif (Williams) who have also committed for the 2020-21 season, and Tucker McIntosh (St. Lawrence), who is committed for 2021-22.
