Commitment Alert | Grads Jackson Arcan commits to NCAA Oswego State

 

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Navan Grads are pleased to announce that forward Jackson Arcan has committed to NCAA Oswego State University for the 2020-21 season.

The 1999 born Thornton, ON native totaled 68 points (33G, 35A) in 56 games this past season. In his two seasons of action with Navan, he compiled 120 points (58G, 62A) in 118 games.

Prior to his time with the Grads, Arcan played two seasons for the Wellington Duckes of the OJHL.

“This is a very special NCAA commitment for Ryan Woodward and I,” said Grads General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams. “Over the last few years, we have watched Jackson turn into an elite Junior A player. He was instrumental in the progress our program has displayed over the past two seasons in the CCHL. I am confident that Jackson will continue to develop at the next level with a premier NCAA program like Oswego. Everyone connected with the Grads organization is proud of Jackson and look forward to watching him in a Lakers uniform. 

Oswego State Lakers assistant coach Jon Whitelaw is thrilled to have Arcan joining the Lakers, “We are excited that Jackson has chosen to be a part of our program and family. We have followed Jackson throughout his junior career and have watched him be a consistent producer all five years. Jackson has elite hockey sense and compete level that has allowed him to be one of the top players in the CCHL over the past two seasons. Coachʼs Abrams and Woodward have done a great job preparing and developing Jackson into a strong leader, ready for college hockey. We welcome Jackson and his family to Oswego and look forward to seeing him in green and gold come this fall.” 

Arcan is the seventh Navan Grads player to make a college commitment this season, joining teammates Andrew Gunlock (Tufts University), Alex Wisco (Amherst College), Quinton Fox (Amherst College), Alex Aslanidis (Western Michigan University), and Tristan Francis (Oswego State University), who all will make the jump this fall, as well as Gabriel Crete who committed to Colgate University for 2022-23.
