The Central Canada Hockey League and Cornwall Colts are pleased to announce that F Tanner Spink will be joining the Lakers Hockey Program at Oswego State University this coming fall.
Spink, a native of Williamstown, ON played five seasons in the CCHL, all as a member of the Colts. In 319 combined regular season and playoff games, the 5-10, 175 lb left shot forward scored 76 goals and totaled 205 points.
He now heads off to an NCAA Division III program that has been nothing but a staple for success in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). The Lakers have won 11 conference championships, been to 8 frozen four tournaments, and won a National Title in 2007. They have an overall record of 898-470-60 since their inaugural season back in 1964.
“It was a long 5 years, but it flew by looking back,” said Spink. “I made a lot of friends along the way and enjoyed being with the Colts for my entire junior career. I am very excited to be able to continue my hockey career at Oswego State. I have heard nothing but great things about their program and cannot wait to begin this next chapter of my life.”
