Two more CCHL alumni are heading to NHL Development Camps, bringing the total number to seventeen. F Chase Pearson, a Cornwall Colts alumnus will be taking part in camp with the Detroit Red Wings while Pembroke Lumber Kings alumni G Gabriel Mollot-Hill is heading to San Jose Sharks camp.
Pearson, a native of Cornwall, ON, played as a 16-year old with the Colts during the 2013-14 season, where he racked up 8 goals and 23 points in 39 games of action. He would play for the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons before spending this past season as a Freshman at the University of Maine. He was drafted in the 5th round, 140th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2015.
Mollot-Hill spent the 2015-16 season with Pembroke where he went 15-6-3-1 in 27 starts as a rookie. He suited up for his hometown Ottawa Jr Canadians of the CCHL2 the year before that. This past season he played in the United States Hockey League with the Bloomington Thunder where he posted a record of 10-13-1-2. The 6-4, 195 puck-stopper is heading into his Freshman season at Providence College this coming fall.
