Cerasuolo stymies Cornwall, Brockville wins 3-1

 

A stellar performance between the pipes by Michael Cerasuolo helped the Brockville Braves defeat the Cornwall Colts, 3-1.

 

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Brockville was led by Andrew Jarvis, who tallied one goal. Jarvis scored 2:43 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Tre Folkes assisted on the tally.

Brockville also got points from Ian Johnston, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Jack Billings as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Jack Gill and Stuart Fierheller, who contributed one each.

Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Colts could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Cornwall averages 3.4 goals per game. The Colts forced the Braves goalie Cerasuolo to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Cornwall was led by Lawson MacDonald, who scored the team's only goal. MacDonald scored on the power play 11:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. The Colts earned a power play opportunity when Jarvis was put in the box for hooking. Dean Derouchie picked up the assist.

Brockville's Cerasuolo stopped 41 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Braves incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Liam Lascelle rejected 25 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
