Ottawa, ON – Two games were in action on Saturday night in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Renfrew Wolves hosted the Rockland Nationals, where the Wolves won 5-4. The Cornwall Colts visited the Ottawa Junior Senators, after 60-minutes the Colts won 3-1.

Renfrew gained an early lead in the first period with goals from Ethan Smith and Jack Dolan, answered by Rockland’s Alex Kelloway. The intensity escalated in the second period as Renfrew’s Noah Vom Scheidt and Henry Wilson (with two goals) widened the gap, but Rockland fought back fiercely with goals from Anthony Hall, Kyle Leonard and Mathieu Fillion. Despite a scoreless third period, the goaltenders, Sebastian Cesar for Rockland and Nolan Lane for Renfrew each made 21 saves.

The first period saw both teams unable to find the back of the net. In the second period, Cornwall’s Adam Walker broke the deadlock, giving his team a crucial lead. The intensity heightened in the third period as Cornwall’s Ethan Montroy netted two goals, extending their advantage. Ottawa managed to respond with a goal from William-Francisco Parent. Cornwall’s goaltender, Xander Miceli made 33 saves. On the other end, Ottawa’s goaltender Will Mizenko made 23 saves.
