CCHL Recap | Wolves and Braves Win Saturday Evening

Ottawa, ON – The Renfrew Wolves hosted the Carleton Place Canadians on Saturday night, after 60-minutes the Wolves won 4-2. As well, the Brockville Braves traveled to the Ottawa Junior Senators, where the Braves won 3-2.

In the first period, Renfrew’s Ethan Smith and Wyatt Hickok found the net, countered by Carleton Place’s William Bouwer. The second period saw Lleyton McLean leveling the score for Carleton Place. However, Renfrew surged ahead in the third period with goals from Kai Billey and Austin Fellinger. Both teams showcased strong goaltending performances, with Carleton Place’s Ian Vandenberg made 41 saves, while Renfrew’s Viacheslav Gordeichuk turned away 32 shots.

F | Brockville 3 Ottawa 2

The scoring kicked off in the first period with a goal from Brockville’s Peter Legostaev. Ottawa responded in the second period with Brandon Paluszak finding the back of the net. The third period witnessed a surge from Brockville, as Anoushan Mugunthan and Aidan Carolan scored crucial goals. Ottawa fought back with William-Francisco Parent contributing a goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Brockville’s lead. Goaltender Zane Spaniol of Brockville made 40 saves, while Ottawa’s Will Mizenko stopped 14 shots.
