CCHL Recap | Raiders, Grads and Wolves Win Sunday

Ottawa, ON – Three games were happening in the Central Canada Hockey League Sunday afternoon and evening. The Nepean Raiders hosted the Carleton Place Canadians, after 60-minutes the Raiders won 3-2. The Navan Grads hosted the Kemptville 73’s, where the Grads won 3-2. The Renfrew Wolves traveled to visit the Pembroke Lumber Kings, where the Wolves took the game 6-3.

F | Carleton Place 2 Nepean 3

The first period saw Will Soloway putting Carleton Place on the board, matched by Owen Colter’s goal for Nepean. Nepean took control in the second period with goals from Curtiss Sturgeon and Oliver Band. Carleton Place fought back in the third period, with Soloway netting his second goal of the game. Goaltenders Aidan Feddema of Carleton Place makes 33 saves and Brady McEwan of Nepean stops 22 shots.

F | Kemptville 2 Navan 3

The first period remained scoreless. Navan broke the deadlock in the second period, with goals from Nicholas Paone and Devon Savignac, answered by Ryan Rutley for Kemptville. The third period saw Navan extending their lead with a goal from Sebbie Johnson, while Kemptville fought back with Tyler Melvin finding the net. Kemptville’s goaltender Dax Easter making an impressive 40 saves and Navan’s Jaeden Nelson turning away 35 shots.

F | Renfrew 6 Pembroke 3

Pembroke struck first in the opening period with goals from Josh Fortier and Liam Cardiff, answered swiftly by Andrew Morton and Emmitt Robillard for Renfrew. In the second, Mikayil Kahriman pulled one back for Pembroke. However, Renfrew surged ahead in the final period with goals from Ethan Smith, Noah Vom Scheidt, Jack Dolan, and Dane Carter, sealing their win. Renfrew’s goaltender Lincoln Mellenthin with 36 saves, while Pembroke’s Kevin Jones made an impressive 42 saves before being replaced by Jacob Morgan, who made 7 saves.
