CCHL Recap | Lumber Kings and Canadians Win Sunday Afternoon

Ottawa, ON – Two afternoon games were featured on Sunday afternoon in the Central Canada Hockey LeagueThe Pembroke Lumber Kings hosted the Cornwall Colts, where after 60-minutes the Lumber Kings won 3-2. The Carleton Place Canadians hosted the Brockville Braves, the Canadians won 5-2.

Cornwall opened the scoring in the 1st period with a goal from Nathan Garnier, but Pembroke quickly responded with goals from Jayson Alegria and Sutton Murray. The 2nd period saw Pembroke extend their lead with a goal from Ryan Parent, countered by Cornwall’s Luc Beliveau. In the 3rd period, neither team managed to find the back of the net. Goaltenders Donald Hickey of Cornwall made 31 saves and Kevin Jones of Pembroke made 33 saves.

F | Brockville 2 Carleton Place 5

In the 1st period, Carter Pilon put Carleton Place on the board, quickly answered by Liam Reid for Brockville. The 2nd period saw Carleton Place surge ahead with goals from Kyle Kudrna and Lleyton McLean, countered by Thomas Cormier for Brockville. Continuing their momentum into the 3rd period, Carleton Place sealed the win with goals from William Bouwer and Thomas Enrietto. Brockville’s goaltender Zane Spaniol made 46 saves, Carleton Place’s Ty Ferguson made 20 saves.
