CCHL Recap | Kemptville and Ottawa Score Big

Ottawa, ON – Two games were happening the Central Canada Hockey League Wednesday evening. With Kemptville taking on Rockland, and Nepean taking on Ottawa. Both games ended in 60-minutes with Kemptville and Ottawa wins. 

F | Rockland 3 Kemptville 4

The 1st period saw both teams trading blows with Mathieu Paquin and Alex Kelloway scoring for Rockland, while Kemptville’s Ryan Rutley, Matt Thomas, Emile Trottier, and Tyler Melvin found the back of the net. The 2nd period remained goalless, setting the stage for an intense 3rd period. Samuel Dumont scored for Rockland, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Kemptville’s lead. In the goaltending department, Patrick Charette started for Rockland and made 12 saves, later replaced by Benoit Forget, who tallied 21 saves. Kemptville’s Jacob Biron stood tall with 18 saves.

F | Ottawa 5 Nepean 1

The 1st period remained scoreless, but the 2nd period saw Ottawa taking control with goals from Ben Albright and Chase Yanni. In the 3rd period, Nepean managed to get on the scoreboard with a goal from Curtiss Sturgeon, but Ottawa quickly responded with goals from Lucas Leblanc and Lucas Staresinic, who netted two goals. Ottawa’s goaltender, Connor Shibley, had a standout performance with 34 saves, while Nepean’s Brady McEwan made 29-saves.
