CCHL Recap | Jr Senators, Grads, Hawks and Colts Win Friday Night

Ottawa, ON – Four thrilling games took place in the Central Canada Hockey League this Friday evening. Ottawa Junior Senators travelled to Brockville and won 6-5 in a shootout. Navan Grads went to visit the Smiths Falls Bears and wins 3-2. Hawkesbury Hawks hosted the Kemptville 73’s to win 6-3. Cornwall Colts took a trip to the Rockland Nationals and won 6-5 in overtime.

F | Ottawa 6 Brockville 5 (SO)

Lucas Leblanc and Felix Belfoy scored in the 1st for Ottawa, while Zach Biniaris countered for Brockville. The 2nd period saw Lucas Culhane net two for Brockville, matched by Kimani Eccleston. Ben Albright’s double and Anthony Menard’s goal in the 3rd tied the game, leading to a scoreless overtime. Alexandre Cote’s shootout heroics secured the win. Goaltender Connor Shibley made 34 saves for Ottawa, while Dax Easter stopped 30 shots for Brockville.

F | Navan 3 Smiths Falls 2

Sebbie Johnson scored in the 1st for Navan, followed by Matthew Mazzotta and Cristobal Tola in the 2nd. Matthew Dimaline and Shaymus Stevenson replied for Smiths Falls. Goaltender Hadyn Gould made 34 saves for Navan, while Dawson Labre made 18 saves for Smiths Falls.

F | Kemptville 3 Hawkesbury 6

Aidan Stubbings and Alex Fournier struck in the 1st, followed by Alexis Minville’s two goals and Maxime Charbonneau in the 2nd. Ty Whyte and Ben Kozyra responded in the 3rd for Kemptville, but Remi Gagne sealed the win for Hawkesbury. Goaltender Caleb Chabot made 36 saves for Hawkesbury, while Kemptville’s Maxwell Ilecki 16-saves, replaced by Jacob Biron who makes 14-saves. 

F | Cornwall 6 Rockland 5 (OT)

Tristan Miron, Kobe Tallman, Patrick Poirier, and Ethan Montroy scored in the 1st for Cornwall, while Trystan-Felix Tremblay netted twice for Rockland. Jaden Davis and Anthony Hall added goals in the 2nd. Jacob Charron and Ethan Montroy exchanged goals in the 3rd, and Montroy’s overtime goal sealed the win. Goaltender Xander Miceli made 27 saves for Cornwall, and Benoit Forget made 17 saves for Rockland.
