CCHL Recap | Colts, Raiders and Canadians Win Sunday Afternoon

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Cornwall Colts traveled to visit the Pembroke Lumber Kings, the game went to overtime where the Colts won 7-6. The Nepean Raiders hosted the Brockville Braves, for a Raiders overtime win of 2-1. The Carleton Place Canadians hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, after 60-minutes the Canadians take the game 6-3.

 

F | Cornwall 7 Pembroke 6 (OT)

The 1st period showcased an offensive showcase with Cam Hicklin and Sutton Murray scoring twice for Pembroke, countered by Fernand-Olivier Perron, Ethan Montroy, and Bradley Fraser for Cornwall. Pembroke’s Eric Barnard and Cornwall’s Fraser added goals in the 2nd. The tension continued into the 3rd, as Sutton Murray netted two more for Pembroke, matched by Perron and Tristan Miron for Cornwall. With a 6-6 tie, the game headed into overtime, where Miron emerged as the hero for Cornwall. Goaltenders Donald Hickey of Cornwall and Kevin Jones of Pembroke each made 35 saves.

 

F | Nepean 2 Brockville 1 (OT)

The 1st and 2nd periods remained scoreless, showcasing strong goaltending from Zane Spaniol of Brockville and Brady McEwan of Nepean. The deadlock broke in the 3rd period when Thomas Dickey of Nepean and Zach Biniaris of Brockville each found the back of the net. With a 1-1 tie persisting into overtime, the game reached a thrilling conclusion as Joshua Reid of Nepean netted the decisive goal. Goaltender Zane Spaniol made an impressive 45 saves for Brockville, but it was Nepean’s Brady McEwan, with 33 saves.

 

F | Carleton Place 6 Hawkesbury 3 

The 1st period set the tone with Mathieu Fehr and Bill Gourgon notching goals for Carleton Place. The 2nd period saw Carleton Place extend their lead with goals from Gourgon, Noah Kinloch Varga, and Caton Ryan. Hawkesbury mounted a comeback effort in the 3rd, with Deklyn Campbell, Aidan Stubbings, and Alex Fournier finding the net, but Carleton Place’s Jace Benvie sealed the win. Goaltender Caleb Chabot made 22 saves for Hawkesbury, while Carleton Place’s Aidan Feddema stood strong with 36 saves.
