CCHL Recap | Colts, Kings, Hawks, Nationals and Grads Win Friday Night

Ottawa, ON – Busy night in the Central Canada Hockey League this Friday night evening had five games happening at once. In the end of 60-minutes, Cornwall Colts, Pembroke Lumber Kings, Hawkesbury Hawks, Rockland Nationals and Navan Grads all earned 2-points.

F | Cornwall 8 Brockville 2

Cornwall cruised to an 8-2 victory over Brockville. Tristan Iron and Fernand-Olivier Perron got Cornwall on the board in the 1st and 2nd periods, respectively, while Owen Watson answered for Brockville. The 2nd period was all Cornwall with goals by Nathan Garnier, Jacob McLellan, and Adam Walker. In the final period, Nathan Garnier and Kobe Tallman extended Cornwall’s lead, and Aidan Carolan added one for Brockville. Cornwall’s Xander Miceli made 20 saves, while Dax Easter and Zane Spaniol combined for 23 saves in Brockville’s net.

F | Pembroke 3 Smiths Falls 1

Pembroke secured a 3-1 victory over Smiths Falls. Jesse Lumsden opened the scoring in the 2nd period for Smiths Falls, but Pembroke stormed back with goals from Ryan Parent, Ryan McNally, and John Takos in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Kevin Jones made an impressive 38 saves for Pembroke, while Dawson Labre made 18 saves for Smiths Falls.

F | Carleton Place 1 Hawkesbury 7

Hawkesbury dominated Carleton Place with a 7-1 win. Brayden Besner started the scoring in the 1st period for Hawkesbury, and Remi Gelinas, Aidan Stubbings, Alex Fournier, and Aleksy Bandu added goals in the 2nd period. Thomas Dickey scored for Carleton Place in the 2nd. Carleton Place’s Ian Vandenberg made 26 saves but was replaced by Jackson Pundyk, who made 7 saves. Dimitri Pelekos made 33 saves for Hawkesbury.

F | Kemptville 3 Rockland 5

Rockland defeated Kemptville 5-3. Kyle Leonard and Xavier Laurent found the net in the 1st period for Rockland. In the 2nd, Anthony Hall and Alex Kelloway extended the lead for Rockland, while Tyler Melvin and Sydney Loreto replied for Kemptville. Samuel Dumont added an insurance goal in the 3rd for Rockland, and Matthew Montoni scored for Kemptville. Maxwell Ilecki made 21 saves for Kemptville, and Benoit Forget made 29 saves for Rockland.

F | Navan 7 Renfrew 2

Navan dominated Renfrew with a 7-2 win. Jace Letourneau opened the scoring for Renfrew in the 1st period. In the 2nd period, Devon Savignac, Gabriel Crete, Sebbie Johnson, and Matthew Roy all contributed goals for Navan, while Ethan Smith scored for Renfrew. In the 3rd, Devon Savignac added two more goals for Navan, and Cristobal Told scored. Hadyn Gould made 35 saves for Navan, and Nolan Lane and Viacheslav Gordeichuk combined for 33 saves for Renfrew.
