CCHL Recap | Braves, Junior Senators, Canadians, 73’s and Wolves Win Friday Night

 

Ottawa, ON – A thrilling Friday evening in the Central Canada Hockey League Friday night. The Brockville Braves hosted the Rockland Nationals, with a Braves win of 4-2. The Ottawa Junior Senators traveled to the Smiths Falls Bears, and took home a 2-1 win. The Carleton Place Canadians visited the Hawkesbury Hawks, to win 4-3 in overtime. The Kemptville 73’s had a visit from the Pembroke Lumber Kings, which ended in a 6-0 shutout win for the 73’s. The Renfrew Wolves went to meet the Navan Grads, for a Wolves win of 4-1. 


F | Rockland 4 Brockville 2

The 1st period showcased Rockland’s offensive prowess with goals from Jaden Davis and Samuel Dumont. However, Brockville retaliated in the 2nd, courtesy of Jackson Arango. The 3rd period proved decisive, as Brockville’s Liam Reid, Owen Watson, and Dylan Coyle secured the win. Goaltender Patrick Charente of Rockland exhibited solid defence with 19 saves, but Brockville’s Zane Spaniol stole the show with an impressive 33 saves, contributing significantly to their triumph.

F | Ottawa 2 Smiths Falls 1

The 1st period saw Shaymus Stevenson netting a goal for Smiths Falls. Ottawa responded in the 2nd period with a strong offensive display, as Justin Murdoch and Conrad Moline found the back of the net. The 3rd period remained scoreless, with both teams locked in a defensive struggle. Goaltender Connor Shibley of Ottawa played a pivotal role, making 23 saves to thwart Smiths Falls’ attempts. On the opposing end, Smiths Falls’ netminder Dax Easter showcased resilience with 21 saves. Ultimately, Ottawa’s effective scoring in the 2nd period and Shibley’s solid goaltending secured the hard-fought win in a closely contested matchup.

F | Carleton Place 4 Hawkesbury 3 (OT)

The 1st period saw Brayden Besner scoring for Hawkesbury, countered by Ryder Dagenais for Carleton Place. The 2nd period intensified with goals from Remi Gelinas and Alex Fournier for Hawkesbury, keeping the score close. In the 3rd period, William Bouwer and Will Soloway found the net for Carleton Place, levelling the playing field. Overtime proved decisive as Bill Gourgon netted the game-winner for Carleton Place. Goaltender Aidan Feddema showcased remarkable skill with 33 saves, while Hawkesbury’s Caleb Chabot made an impressive 53 saves.

F | Kemptville 6 Pembroke 0

The 1st period set the tone as Parker Holmes and Tyler Moroz swiftly put Kemptville in the lead. The 2nd period showcased an offensive onslaught, with Ryan Rutley, Tyler Melvin, and Gavin McDougall extending Kemptville’s lead. Pembroke struggled to find the net, and Kemptville continued their relentless attack into the 3rd period, with Nicholas Bennett sealing the win. Goaltender Kevin Jones started for Pembroke, making 21 saves, but he was replaced by Conor Waldron, who made 6 saves. Kemptville’s Jacob Biron stood tall in the net, making 23 saves and securing a shutout victory.

F | Renfrew 4 Navan 1

The 1st period remained scoreless, setting the stage for an intense clash. In the 2nd period, Renfrew seized control as Ethan Smith, Jayson Alegria, and Kai Billey found the net, showcasing their offensive prowess. The 3rd period saw Jack Dolan extending Renfrew’s lead, while Devon Savignac managed to notch one for Navan. Goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk of Renfrew played a crucial role in the victory, making an outstanding 36 saves. On the opposing end, Navan’s Jaeden Nelson demonstrated resilience with 40 saves.
