CCHL Recap | A Wrap on Day Two of The Fall CCHL Showcase

Ottawa, ON – With our second day completed of the 2023 Fall Showcase; Renfrew, Cornwall, Hawkesbury, Nepean, Carleton Place and Smiths Falls win on day two.

F |Renfrew 4 Kemptville 3

In an intense matchup, Renfrew narrowly edged out Kemptville with a final score of 4-3. The first period saw goals from Joshua Penney for Renfrew and Benjamin Kay for Kemptville. In the second period, Ty Whyte scored for Kemptville, but Dane Carter netted two goals for Renfrew, with Joshua Penney adding another. In the final period, Ty Whyte notched his second goal for Kemptville. Goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk of Renfrew made 25 saves, while Jacob Biron of Kemptville made 35 saves in a hard-fought battle.

F | Ottawa 3 Cornwall 4

Cornwall secured a 4-3 victory against Ottawa in a closely contested game. Harrison MacCallum and Kobe Tallman scored in the first period. In the second period, Tristan Miron, Colby Lauzon, and Kobe Tallman extended Cornwall’s lead, while Jordan Graham found the net for Ottawa. In the third period, Mathis Bedard scored for Ottawa. Goaltender Will Mizenko of Ottawa made 25 saves, while Xander Miceli of Cornwall also made 25 saves.

F | Hawkesbury 4 Rockland 3

Hawkesbury emerged victorious with a 4-3 win over Rockland. In the first period, goals were scored by Alex Fournier for Hawkesbury and Trystan-Felix Tremblay for Rockland. In the second period, Alexis Minville and Aidan Stubbings added to Hawkesbury’s lead. In the third period, Alexis Minville scored again, while Matthew Verspeeten and Xavier Laurent scored for Rockland. Goaltender Caleb Chabot of Hawkesbury made 30 saves, and Wills Seagrave of Rockland made 17 saves.

F | Pembroke 1 vs Nepean 3

Nepean defeated Pembroke 3-1 in a low-scoring affair. Marty Magaletta scored in the second period for Nepean, and Nick Houben netted two goals in the third period. Lucas Legault scored Pembroke’s lone goal. Goaltender Philip Rondina of Pembroke made 24 saves, while Brady McEwan of Nepean made 29 saves.

F | Navan 2 Carleton Place 3

Carleton Place secured a 3-2 victory over Navan. Mathieu Fehr scored in the first period for Carleton Place, and in the third period, Bill Gourgon and Will Soloway added crucial goals. Devon Savignac and Noah Carpenter scored for Navan.

F | Brockville 1 Smiths Falls 4

Smiths Falls dominated Brockville with a final score of 4-1. In the first period, Nicholas Esposito scored for Brockville, and Travis Ouellette for Smiths Falls. Alex McIntosh scored for Smiths Falls in the second period, and in the third, Travis Ouellette and Julien Wasmer added two more goals. Goaltender Dax Easter of Brockville made 46 saves, while Evan Malloy of Smiths Falls made 13 saves.
