CCHL Recap | 73’s, Raiders, Grads and Lumber Kings Take Sunday Night Wins

Ottawa, ON – Three afternoon games and one evening game took place in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Kemptville 73’s hosted the Brockville Braves to win 5-4. Nepean Raiders hosted the Carleton Place Canadians and won 5-2. The Navan Grads hosted the Renfrew Wolves to win 4-3. The Pembroke Lumber Kings won on home ice 4-3 against the Rockland Nationals.

F | Brockville 4 Kemptville 5

Ty Whyte and Patrick Haughian put Kemptville ahead in the 1st period, countered by Kimani Eccleston for Brockville. The 2nd period saw a flurry from Brockville with goals from Lucas Culhane, Dylan Coyle, and Nicholas Esposito, but Ty Whyte kept Kemptville in the game. Kemptville secured the win in the 3rd period with goals from Ryan Rutley and Ty Whyte. Goaltender Zane Spaniel (Brockville) made 28 saves, while Jacob Biron (Kemptville) stopped 23 shots.

F | Carleton Place 2 Nepean 5 

William Bouwer scored in the 1st period for Carleton, but Nepean took control in the 2nd with goals from William Dickson, Joshua Reid, and Thomas Dickey. Bill Gourgon pulled one back for Carleton in the 2nd. Nepean sealed the victory in the 3rd with goals from Nick Houben and Brandon Reinisch. Goaltender Jackson Pundyk (Carleton Place) made 20 saves, while Brady McEwan (Nepean) turned away 36 shots.

F | Renfrew 3 Navan 4

Devon Savignac, Noah Carpenter, and Danik Marion scored for Navan in the 1st. Jace Letourneau got Renfrew on the board in the 2nd, with Devon Savignac responding for Navan. Andrew Morton and Dane Carter brought Renfrew closer in the 3rd. Goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk (Renfrew) made 39 saves, but Navan’s Jaeden Nelson’s 38 saves secured the win.

F | Rockland 3 Pembroke 4

A no scoring 1st period lied up for a thrilling second period. The 2nd period saw a burst of goals, with Jaden Davis (2 goals) and Jacob Charron scoring for Rockland, countered by Eric Barnard and Ryan McNally for Pembroke. The 3rd period goals from Vital Dinis and Sutton Murray secured Pembroke’s win. Goaltender Benoit Forget (Rockland) made 19 saves, while Kevin Jones (Pembroke) stopped 32 shots.
