CCHL Recap | 73’s, Hawks, Junior Senators, Grads and Kings Win Sunday Night

Ottawa, ON –  Five games were in action this afternoon and evening the the Central Canada Hockey LeagueAll games ended in regulation time; Kemptville 73’s, Hawkesbury Hawks, Ottawa Junior Senators, Navan Grads and Pembroke Lumber Kings all earning 2-points.

F | Smiths Falls 1 Kemptville 2

In a close matchup, Kemptville edged out Smiths Falls with a final score of 2-1. The first period saw goals from Matthew Martin-Gaudreault for Smiths Falls and Grady Logue for Kemptville. The second period remained goalless, but in the third, Nicholas Bennett scored the game-winner for Kemptville. Goaltenders Dawson Labre of Smiths Falls and Jacob Biron of Kemptville put on a spectacular show, making 30 and 38 saves, respectively.

F| Hawkesbury 5 Rockland 3

Hawkesbury emerged victorious in a high-scoring affair against Rockland with a final score of 5-3. The first period saw goals from Jeremie Ndeffo for Rockland and David Lebel for Hawkesbury. The second period featured four goals, with Jack Traecy and Kyle Leonard scoring for Rockland and Wyatt Schmidek, Alexis Minville, Alex Fournier, and Alexis Billequey scoring for Hawkesbury. The third period remained goalless, sealing the win for Hawkesbury. Goaltender Caleb Chabot of Hawkesbury made 35 saves, while Patrick Charette of Rockland made 15 saves.

F | Ottawa 6 Carleton Place 2

Ottawa dominated Carleton Place with a final score of 6-2. The first period featured goals from Loic Prudhomme and Lleyton McLean for Carleton Place and Ryder Dagenais and William-Francisco Parent for Ottawa. In the second period, Jacob Renaud-Via, Lucas Leblanc, and Harrison MacCallum extended Ottawa’s lead. The third period saw a goal from Conrad Moline for Ottawa. Goaltender Will Mizenko of Ottawa made an impressive 43 saves, while Carleton Place’s Ty Ferguson made 12 saves and was replaced by Jackson Pundyk, who made 7 saves.

Navan dominated Brockville with a final score of 9-3. The first period featured goals from Aidan Carolan for Brockville and Gabriel Crete and Sebbie Johnson for Navan. In the second period, Cristobal Cola and Sebbie Johnson extended Navan’s lead. The third period saw goals from Lucas Culhane and Owen Watson for Brockville and Noah Carpenter, Devon Savvignac, Danik Marion, Shaan Kingwell, and Danny Markham for Navan. Goaltender Dax Easter of Brockville made 42 saves, while Navan’s Haden Gould made 31 saves.

F | Nepean 1 Pembroke 6

Pembroke secured a 6-1 victory against Nepean. The first period saw goals from Nicolas Papineau for Nepean and Ryan Parent for Pembroke. In the second period, Cam Hicklin and Ryan Parent added to Pembroke’s lead. The third period featured goals from Ryan McNally, Easton Penna, and Kyle Cameron for Pembroke. Goaltender Brady McEwan of Nepean made 21 saves, while Pembroke’s Kevin Jones made 20 saves.
