CCHL ANNOUNCES NEXT RECRUIT/CCM PLAYER/GOALIE/ROOKIE OF THE MONTH HONORS FOR FEBRUARY

The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for February. The Player of the Month is Alex Gilmour of the Pembroke Lumber KingsGilmourrecently earned the league’s 1st star for the month of February and collected 18 (10G, 8A) points in eleven games. The Lumber Kings forward enjoyed five multiple point games while being selected a game star in six contests. The Toronto, ON native leads the Lumber Kings in overall scoring with 45 (23G, 22A) points in 32 games and helped Pembroke to a 8-2-1 record for the month. The Goalie of the Month and Rookie of the Month honorboth go to Colton Point of theCarleton Place Canadians . The Canadians net-minder went undefeated with a 6-0-0-1 record in February which helped keep Carleton Place at the top of the CCHL standings. The North Bay, ON native posted an outstanding 1.52 Goals Against and stellar .949 Save Percentage including two shutouts. The Colgate University commit earned four game stars for his efforts and has an overall record of 22-5-1-1. Point is currently 1st overall in Goals Against (2.20), 4th in Save Percentage with (.915) and 2nd in the league with 6 shutouts.
