Brockville wins tough contest against Smiths Falls, 3-2

Brockville pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

In a losing effort, Bears were sparked by Michael McKenney, who racked up two goals. McKenney scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1 . Nicolas Coates provided the assist. McKenney's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Smiths Falls in the second period. Coates claimed the first assist on the goal, and Matthew Kenney got the second.

Braves were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of 11 man advantages.Brockville kept Bears's goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan DeBrouwer made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Braves were led by Thomas Dunleavy, who registered one goal and one assist.Dunleavy scored on the power play in the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. The goal was assisted by Jack Billings and Cameron Crotty.Others who scored for Brockville included Ian Johnston and Neil Robinson, who scored one each. More assists for Brockville came via Liam Folkes, who had two and Billings, Andrew Jarvis, and Crotty, who contributed one apiece.

Smiths Falls kept Brockville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Henry Johnson made 34 saves on 36 shots.

In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Coates, who had two and Kenney, who had one.

Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bears incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
