Carleton Place rolls over Nepean, 4-1

 

The Nepean Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Carleton Place Canadians, which beat Raiders, 4-1.

 

Andy Sturtz had two goals and one assist to lead Carleton Place. Sturtz scored the first of his two goals at 10:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place. Connor Merkley assisted on the tally. Sturtz's next tally made the score 4-1 Carleton Place with 28 seconds left in the third period. Jordan Larson picked up the assist.

The Canadians stifled Nepean's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also got points from Alex Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Larson, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Nepean put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Carleton Place to score on any of its four power plays. The Raiders could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Nepean averages 3.4 goals per game.

The Raiders were led by Felix Page, who scored the team's only goal. Page scored 19:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place. Brandon Belding assisted on the tally.

Guillaume Therien rejected 23 shots on goal for the Canadians. Carleton Place incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Daniel Urbani recorded 30 saves for Nepean. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
