Elie nets hat trick, leads Cornwall to 6-2 win over Kanata

 

The Kanata Stallions could not stop the Cornwall Colts' Tristen Elie, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Elie's first goal came 17:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:13 into the second and at 16:56 into the third.

 

Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Colts' offense rang up 38 shots on Kanata's net. Cornwall surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Colts average 3.6 goals per contest.

Cornwall also got points from Tristan Conrad, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cornwall included Ross Craig and Jay DAmour, who each put in one. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Zac Tierney, who had two, Grant Cooper and Jeremy McFarlane, who each chipped in one, and Marly Quince and Peter Angelopoulos, who contributed three each.

The Stallions kept Cornwall's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brett Nichol made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Kanata was helped by Antoine Parrodis, who registered one goal. Parrodis scored 12:05 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Cornwall. Louis-Charles Croteau picked up the assist. Kanata additionally got points from Croteau, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Kanata came via Taylor Egan and Hugo Petit, who each chipped in one.

The Colts incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brian Wilson made 32 saves for the Stallions on 38 shots. Kanata incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Stallions, Dylan Mascarin was ejected from the game.
