Carleton Place downs Nepean, 2-0

 

Andrew Dodson registered one point to lead the Carleton Place Canadians to a 2-0 victory over the Nepean Raiders.

 

Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nepean to score on any of its four power plays. The Canadians' offense operated below their season average. Carleton Place averages 4.9 goals per game. The Canadians featured an improved defense during the game. Carleton Place averages 3.0 goals allowed per game.

Brett Murray also scored for Carleton Place. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Marcus Joseph, Lucas Batt, Bryce VanHorn, and Maxime StPierre, who contributed one each.

The Raiders stifled the Canadians' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Raiders put an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game.

Colton Point rejected 18 shots on goal for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Francis Marotte made 28 saves for Nepean on 30 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
