Brockville survives Cornwall comeback, wins 5-3

The Cornwall Colts tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Brockville Braves would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Sean King put Brockville up 5-2 in the third period, but Cornwall pulled to within two on Jeremy McFarlane‘s tally 19:11 into the third period.

The Braves got the win with help from a great game by Liam Folkes, who had one goal and two assists. Folkes scored 16:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Andrew Peski provided the assist.

Brockville also had goals scored by Michael Murray and Dante Suffredini, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brockville received assists from Eric Israel, Jack Patterson, Francesco Tolfa, and DAndre John, who contributed one each.

The Colts’ offense rang up 41 shots on Brockville’s net.

Cornwall was led by Ryan Patulli, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Patulli scored on the power play 4:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. The Colts had gained a power play chance when Neil Robinson was whistled for slashing. Marly Quince picked up the assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Zac Tierney as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Parker Krol, Cameron Roth, and Kevin Hope, who each chipped in one.

Mitchell Datz made 38 saves for the Braves on 41 shots. Brockville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brett Nichol rejected 24 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cornwall ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Quince was ejected from the game.
