Brockville falls to Carleton Place in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

 

Jacob Moreau gave the Carleton Place Canadians a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Brockville Braves when he scored 4:18 into the extra period.

 

The win gave Carleton Place a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Canadians' penalty kill excelled, as Carleton Place gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Canadians were sparked by Moreau, who registered one goal and one assist.

Carleton Place kept Brockville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Henry Johnson made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Carleton Place also got points from Will LeNeave, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Jordan Larson and Alex Friesen, who each put in one. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Matt Lombardozzi, who had two and Marcus Joseph, Alex Robinson, and Nicolas Carrier, who contributed one each.

The Braves stifled the Canadians' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Brockville was helped by Liam Folkes, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Folkes scored 12:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Neil Robinson picked up the assist. Brockville additionally got points from Robinson, who also had one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Michael Murray as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Thomas Dunleavy, Jack Billings, Andrew Jarvis, and Cameron Crotty, who each chipped in one.

Carleton Place's Colton Point stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Canadians incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
