Boulerice Named October Academic Player of the Month

Ottawa, Ont. — The Central Canada Hockey League announced today that Ottawa Jr. Senators forward Elie Boulerice has been named the league’s Gongshow Gear Academic Player of the Month for October.

Boulerice, 19, posted honour-roll grades (80 per cent or above) with a demanding full-time, six-course ‘overload’ schedule in the University of Ottawa’s mechanical engineering program.

The Casselman, Ont. native has also excelled on the ice, tallying 16 points (6G, 10A) in 23 games this season.

Boulerice earned Academic Player of the Month honours previously in February 2017.

Honourable mention went to Rockland Nationals forward Cole Lavoie, who held an 87 per cent average in part-time studies at Algonquin College’s business administration program.

The 19 year-old has been a key piece of Rockland’s puzzle this season, leading on-ice (6G, 8A) and off-ice.
