ALUMNI: FORMER LUMBER KINGS NETMINDERS CONTINUE TO ROLL

It seems to have become just an ordinary thing for a couple former Pembroke Lumber Kings goaltenders in Jamie Phillips & Darren Smith.  Each week the NCAA's WCHA Conference announces their wekkly top performers and each week both these goaltenders are in the running to be recognized.

JAMIE PHILLIPS – MICHIGAN TECH – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Caledonia, ON native earned WCHA Defensive Player of the Week after backstopping Michigan Tech to a couple victories and the Winter Carnival title after stopping 53 of 54 shots.  This is the sixth WCHA weekly honor of Phillips college career, his fourth this season.

*Former Brockville Braves defenseman Brandon Anselmini of Ferris State was named an Honorable Mention.

DARREN SMITH – FERRIS STATE – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

The Barrie, Ontario natives' hot streak continued as he stopped 51 of 52 shots in a weekend sweep over Alaska improving his unbeaten streak to seven games (5-0-2).  Over the past three weekends in which Ferris State has played, Smith has been named WCHA Rookie of the Week each time while also taking home WCHA Rookie of the Month honors for the month of January.

*Former Carleton Place Canadians captain Stephen Baylis of Bowling Green was named an Honorable Mention.
