ALUMNI: BAYLIS NAMED NCAA WCHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Former Carleton Place Canadians captain Stephen Baylis has been named NCAA Western Collegiate Hockey Asssociation Rookie of the Week after recording 1 goal and 2 assists in two weekend victories over Ferris State.

The Carleton Place, ON native recorded the game-winning goal with just over 2 minutes remaining while also recording a primary assist in Friday nights 4-3 victory.  On Saturday, Baylis would add another primary assist as Bowling Green once again defeated Ferris State, this time by a 6-2 score.  Baylis currently has 5 goals and 12 points in 29 games this season, placing him 1st in freshman scoring with the Falcons. 

Before his current tenure with the Falcons, Baylis suited up for his hometown Canadians where he registered 97 goals and 237 points in 261 games while skating in back-to-back National Championships.  As a 16-year old he suited up for the Arnprior Packers of the EOJHL (CCHL2) where he scored 14 goals and totalled 27 points in 51 games.
