Morning Recap | CCHL All Stars fall to Gee-Gees Saturday Night

 

OTTAWA, ON – Although there were no official CCHL league games on Saturday night, fans in Ottawa were treated to an exhibition game which saw the CCHL 2001 & 2002 All-Star Team match-up against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Nick Bowman, Justin McRae, and Jerome Gravel got the scoring started for the Gee-Gees, Nicolas Mattinen, and Anthony Poulin would put the game away late with a pair of empty net goals, while Anand Oberoi and JP Tourigny shared the net for the Gee-Gees in the victory. For the CCHL, Rylee Hlusiak and Aaron Shaw scored goals, while William Desmarais and Jack McGovern shared duties in net. Desmarais got the start, stopping 19 of 21 shots, while McGovern entered the game at the mid-way point, making 7 saves on 8 shots. The game was a tight-knit one from start to finish, but the Gee-Gees would would ultimately come out on top.
