Ottawa, ON- On what was a busy weekend schedule for the CCHL, we saw goals, saves and some big hits. Teams are ready to play.
Saturday
Cornwall 2 Ottawa 1
In the lone game Saturday, these two faced off looking to get back on track. In the end off of goals from Tristan Miron and Brayden Bowen the Colts squeaked out a win. Gabriel Pelchat with his 1st in the loss.
Sunday
Rockland 4 Kemptville 1
This game featured something that doesn’t happen often for the Nationals; a scoreless first period. Both teams would find their footing but in the end Rockland continues theior strong start to the 24-25 season with a 4-1 win. Tremblay x2, Gosselin & Kelloway in the win while Sydney Loreto got the lone 73’s goal.
Nepean 7 Renfrew 2
The teams traded goals in the 1st with Taylor & Smith scoring for Nepean while Penney & Souliere scoring for Renfrew. In the 2nd, teh Raiders exploded for 5 goals (McGurn x2, Campbell, Nadeau & Benoit) to blow it open.
Navan 5 Carleton Place 2
The old saying its not how you start its how you finish and this was true in this one. Carleton Place got off to a fast start scoring 2 goals in 19 seconds (Kay & Mathews) but the defending champs flexed their muscle scoring 4 straight (4 in the 3rd to win it). Connors, Holmes, Carpenter, Johnson & Latreille.
Smiths Falls 4 Brockville
This game was intense. In what was the theme for this day, Brockville took the lead very early thanks to Brandon Paluszak but Smiths Falls scored 4 straight with the final into an empty net for the win. Dagg, Heron, Ashcroft and Ouellette with the tallies.
Hawkesbury 10 Pembroke 5
I hope you took the over as this was the highest scoring game to date. The Hawks got goals from 9 different players with Remi Gelinas leading the way with 5 pts. Pembroke did not go away as Eric Barnard had 4 pts of his own.
