WEEK 13 POWER-RANKINGS | CP is still #1, Kanata and Navan move up

 

  1. Carleton Place Canadians (29-2-2) (CJHL #1) | LW: 1 (–) | Results: 1-0W @ NEP, 4-1W @ SF | After becoming the number ranked team in the country last week, Jason Clarkes CP Canadians continued to stay hot. CP was outshot, 35-34 in their 1-0 win over Nepean on Wednesday but still remain the top team in the league, having now recorded a point 21 straight contests.
  2. Ottawa Jr. Senators (24-4-3) (CJHL #7) | LW: 2 (–) | Results: 3-1W vs KEM, 9-2W @ KEM, 5-2W vs PEM | Ottawa continued their winning streak to eight games with a win on Saturday against Pembroke. The Jr. Sens nine goals scored on Friday suggest that they should be ranked higher than number two in the power-rankings but Jason Clarkes team still remains first after staying at #1 in the CJHL rankings.
  3. Brockville Braves (18-13-1) | LW: 4 (+1) | Results: 2-0L @ SF, 4-0W @ CRW, 6-3W vs ROC, 6-2W at HAW | Brockville moves up one spot in the power-ranking based of their 3-1 weekly record. They played three of their four games on the road and outscored opponents, 16-to-7 over the week.
  4. Hawkesbury Hawks (18-9-1) | LW: 5 (+1) | Results: 6-3W @ ROC, 3-0W vs NAV, 6-3L vs. BRO | Hawkesbury recorded some much needed character wins this week and continue to keep the third place spot in the CCHL. Their 2-and-1 record this week slots them at number four. Sunday’s 6-3 loss to Brockville in a marquee matchup hurts their position. Overall still a big threat.
  5. Kanata Lasers(14-13-3) | LW: 8 (+3) | Results: 4-1W vs. SF, 4-1W at KEM | The Lasers jumped back over .500 with back-to-back wins this week. They are now 4-and-2 over their last six games, with their only two loses coming to CP. This week they rank fifth but expect them to rise next week.
  6. Pembroke Lumber Kings(16-11-1) | LW: 3 (-3) | Results: 5-2L at OJS, 2-1SOW vs CRW | The Lumber Kings continued to play .500 hockey this week. They suffered a tough loss to OJS on Saturday but picked up a much needed win over Cornwall on Sunday. Pembroke is now 4-and-4 in the month of November.
  7. Navan Grads (9-21-0) | LW: 12 (+4) | Results:  3-0L @ HAW, 5-4W vs CRW | A highly skilled Grads team was able to pick up a much needed two points on Sunday night. The shoot-out win over Cornwall  snaps a five game losing streak. Navan’s 1-and-1 record this week moves them to number seven on the power-rankings.
  8. Rockland Nationals (15-16-2) | LW: 10 (+2) | Results: 6-3L vs. HAW, 6-3L @ BRO, 3-2W @ NEP | Rockland is now one game under .500 after going 1-and-2 this week. The Nat’s are 4-and-7 in the month of November but have won four of their last 7 games. There come from behind win against Nepean brings them to number eight this week.
  9. Smiths Falls Bears(11-16-4) | LW: 6 (-4) | Results: 2-0W vs BRO, 4-1L at KAN, 4-1L vs CP, 5-4SOL at NAV | The Bears extended their winning streak to three games after 2-0 win over the Braves on Tuesday before losing the next three games. Overall, they went 1-3 this week and rank ninth in our power-rankings.
  10. Cornwall Colts (13-13-5) | LW: 7  (-3) | Results: 4-0L vs BRO, 2-1SOL at PEM | Cornwall are still a .500 hockey club and hold the 8th and final play-off spot. Their 0-and-2 week pulls them behind Kanata for 7th.
  11. Nepean Raiders (10-16-2) | LW: 9 (-2) | Results: 1-0L vs CP, 3-2SOL vs ROC | Nepean suffered two one goal loses this week. They outshot Carleton Place on Wednesday but remain out of the top eight in the standings.
  12. Kemptville 73’s(6-25-1) | LW: 11 (-1) | Results: 3-1L @ OJS, 9-2L vs OJS, 4-1L vs KAN | Kemptville played a good game against OJS (3-1L) on Wednesday but did not finish the week well with two tough losses over the weekend. They are now 1-and-9 in the month of November and still remain last in the CCHL Power-rankings.
