Pembroke 5, Smiths Falls 2

Five different Lumber Kings — Zach Cross, Matt Barnaby, Matt Walilko, James Buckley and Pete Falivena — all found the net as Pembroke downed the visiting Smiths Falls Bears 5-2.

Goaltender Jake Smith was strong in net for Pembroke (9-7-0), turning aside 31 of 33 shots faced, while Bradley Dobson was saddled with the loss for Smiths Falls (6-11-0).

Brendan Browne had two assists in the win for the Lumber Kings in front of a crowd of 663 at the Pembroke Memorial Centre.

Carleton Place 5, Navan 3

A late-game comeback bid from the hometown Grads fell well short on Sunday afternoon, as Navan dropped a 5-3 decision to the Carleton Place Canadians.

Peyton Francis and Sam Knoblauch each netted a pair of goals for the first-place Canadians (15-2-1), while Keenan Reynolds and Simon Besner combined for four assists for the Grads (5-11-0).

Goaltender Seth Carter held Navan — which was outshot 54-19 — in the contest, making 49 saves to keep it close.

Rockland 4, Cornwall 3 (OT)

Connor Beatty’s game-winning goal just eight seconds into overtime handed the Rockland Nationals their sixth win in their last eight contests.

Veteran Jahwara Rennalls scored for the Nationals (10-5-2) in his first game of the 2017-18 season; Konnor MacCormick scored a pair for the visiting Colts (8-8-2).
