Sunday CCHL Playoff Recap

F/OT | Rockland 3, Carleton Place 2 | Series tied 1-1

Sean Storr was the big difference in the win for Rockland. He made 39 saves on 41 shots to tie the series. Rockland didn’t allow a lead during the hockey game. Cole Lavoie got the first of the game but CP tied it at one when Geoff Kitt scored at 12:56 left in the 2nd period. While CP was on the power play, Benjamin Pruneau scored a shorthanded goal off a clearing attempt to make 2-1.

Carleton Place would tie it back up just 21 seconds into the third, with Zach Tupker getting the goal sending this contest to overtime. In the extra frame, Connor Beatty had a 1 on 1 opportunity and capitalized on a shot from the right circle to end it in OT. Michael Leach made 16 saves on 19 shots in game two loss. CP outshot Rockland 41-19.

Game three goes Wednesday night in Carleton Place Arena at 8:15

F | Cornwall 4, Hawkesbury 2 | Series tied 1-1

Cornwall would trail twice in the hockey game off goals from Alec Taillon and Keiran Craig for the Hawks. At the 14 minute mark of the second period, JD Pogue would tie it up and then the Colts took advantage from Noah Williams to give them their first lead of the game.

JD Pogue would add an EN goal to get his second goal of the afternoon. Alex Wilkins had 2 assists on two goals and now has 3 assists on the series. Liam Lascelle had a good performance and added an assist on the Empty net goal.

Game three goes tomorrow night in Hawkesbury at 7:30.

F/OT | Brockville 5, Kanata 4 | BRO leads series 2-0

The Braves got off to a hot start by scoring three goals from Jonathan Hill, Eric Holland and Zac Mcmahon early in the first. Two of those goals came on the power play. Logan Bateman started the game but was pulled after the third goal to give Gabriel Carriere his first taste of playoff hockey. Larsen added one before the first period came to an end.

Gilmour extended the braves lead to 4-1 but Kanata came back. Chad Merrell had 2 goals and Trevor Poeze also scored and Kanata tied it late to send it to OT. Brockville would capitalize 56 seconds into the extra frame off a pass behind the net from Hawkins to Mike McArthur to get the OT winner. Kanata outshot Brockville 35-22 in the game.

Game three goes Tuesday night in Brockville at 7:30.
