Release | Grads’ Jaeden Nelson Named Rookie of the Year

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the Navan Grads goaltender Jaeden Nelson has been named the 2023/24 Rookie of the Year.

The 2007 from Ottawa, ON is currently first overall among rookie goaltenders in wins (24) and second in SV% (0.922). He has also earned the Source for Sports Rookie of the Month in February. 

“As a first year goaltender in the CCHL, at 16 years of age, Jaeden has consistently performed at the top of his game the entire season. He has given our team a chance to win during his starts and being selected as the league’s Rookie of the Year is well earned. His transition to junior hockey this season was seamless which speaks volumes to his maturity, work ethic and ability.” Says Marty Abrams, Navan Grads Head Coach.

During this season, Nelson played two games for the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League. Prior to entering the CCHL, Nelson played for the Ottawa Myers Automotive U15 AAA.
