Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce from the Navan Grads, goaltender Jaeden Nelson has been named the 2023/24 Goaltender of the Year.
The 2007 born Ottawa, On native has a record of 25-8-2 with a .921 SV% and 2.57 GAA. To add, currently first overall among rookie goaltenders in wins (25). He has also earned the Source for Sports Rookie of the Month in February. Nelson was also named to the All-Rookie Team Award this season.
“Jaeden has proven to be one of the CCHL’s top performers this season,’ said Navan Head Coach Marty Abrams. “The CCHL has a rich history of excellent goaltenders and Jaeden’s play this season puts him at the top of his class. He has consistently performed at a very high standard, works hard in practice and is an excellent teammate. We are thrilled he has been name Goalie of the Year, an award well deserved.”
During this season, Nelson played two games for the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League. Prior to entering the CCHL, Nelson played for the Ottawa Myers Automotive U15 AAA.
