Release | Braves Liam Soulierre commits to NCAA Penn State University

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Brockville Braves are pleased to announce that goaltender Liam Souliere has committed to NCAA Penn State University.

Souliere (19), is currently leading the CCHL in Wins (12), SV% (.951), and GAA (1.40), while also adding 1 Shutout. He has allowed 2 goals or less in 10 of his 12 starts.

“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me up to this point,” said Souliere. “The feeling is incredible and it’s still hard to believe this opportunity has presented itself. A lot of hard work has been put into this and a lot of hard work is still to come.”

Penn State has been one of the top programs since moving to the NCAA from the ACHA in 2010 and has recruited other CCHL alumni such as Andrew Sturtz (Carleton Place), Kris Myllari (Kanata), and Liam Folkes (Brockville).

“I cannot wait to get things started at there,” Souliere added. “Right now though, the main focus is on the rest of the season with the Braves, as I believe we have a chance to do something special. The defense in front of me has made my job a lot easier, the forwards are taking a lot of stress off the back-end, and Head Coach Jesse Winchester has all the players buying into a team-first mentality. We just need to keep pushing as a team.”

Before his time in the CCHL, Souliere played for Andre Laurendeau Boomerang (QCHL) and Amos Forrestiers (QMAAA).
