Release | Bears Pat Malloy named 2022-23 CCHL General Manager of the Year

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Pat Malloy from the Smiths Falls Bears has been named 2022-23 General Manager of the Year.

Malloy, 46, is in his fourth season as the as General Manager of the Bears after joining the team back in the Summer of 2019.

This season, Malloy, who is also Head Coach of the Bears, has helped lead them to a Robinson Division best record of 35-15-1-2. He has been a big part in the development of such local players as Sean James, Ty Campbell, and Riley Thompson, while also helping recruit the likes of Conor Ronayne and Thomas Gangl.

Malloy made one of the bigger splashes at the CCHL Trade Deadline as he acquired top defenceman and Robert Morris University commit Thomas Haynes from the Brockville Braves.

The Bears have secured a Top 3 seed are waiting to find out who their first round opponent will be in the 2022-23 Bogart Cup Playoffs.
