Carleton Place 4, Rockland 0
Carleton Place defeated Rockland 4-0 in a game dominated by strong goaltending and disciplined scoring. After a scoreless first period, Carleton Place took control in the second with goals from Hartnell and McVie-Stevenson. They sealed the victory in the third period as Bouwer and Kay added to the tally. Rockland outshot Carleton Place 32-29 but failed to capitalize on their chances, while Vandenberg delivered a flawless performance in net with 32 saves for Carleton Place. Neither team converted on power play opportunities in a physical yet disciplined matchup.
Navan 3, Smiths Falls 2 (OT)
Navan edged Smiths Falls 3-2 in overtime in a tightly contested game. Navan took an early lead with Holmes scoring in the first period, but Smiths Falls responded in the second with two goals from Parker, including one at the buzzer to end the period. Ramsay tied the game for Navan in the third, forcing overtime. Carpenter secured the victory for Navan with a goal at 4:19 of the extra frame. Navan outshot Smiths Falls 34-28, with Gagne making 26 saves for the win, while Morrow stopped 31 shots in a strong performance for Smiths Falls. Neither team capitalized on power-play opportunities despite multiple chances.
Nepean 5, Pembroke 3
In a game featuring 3 first CCHL goals and one first of the season Nepean defeated Pembroke 5-3 in a special-teams-heavy matchup. Nepean’s Thompson opened the scoring early in the first, but Hayes equalized for Pembroke on a power play. Nepean capitalized on power-play opportunities in the second, with goals from Benoit and Carroll to take a 3-1 lead. Caesar and Lumsden extended Nepean’s lead in the third, while Pembroke’s Alegria scored two late power-play goals to narrow the gap. Despite being outshot 36-29, Nepean’s Brant made 33 saves for the win, while Pembroke’s Modelski stopped 24 shots. Both teams leaned on their power plays, with Nepean going 2/5 and Pembroke 3/7.
